Volunteer

The projects in the Sachamanda network offer you many opportunities to volunteer and actively contribute to the protection of the rainforest. You can connect with various projects via our platform and help to preserve the impressive diversity of the Amazon in the long term.

As a Padrinos member, you can become active behind the scenes and take on important tasks. These include membership administration, organising donations and general meetings, writing annual reports and smaller administrative tasks. Your involvement strengthens cooperation and the impact of the associated projects.

Of course, you can also provide voluntary support on site in the form of an internship. We offer volunteering opportunities in almost all of our projects. You can choose the project depending on your area of interest:

AmaZOOnico

As a volunteer at amaZOOnico, you can expect an exciting time with many other volunteers from all over the world. Together you will be responsible for caring for the animals at the sanctuary – that means preparing food, feeding them and also giving tours to educate tourists about illegal animal trade and explain the concept of amaZOOnico.

Liana Lodge

It is important to us that interns or volunteers can familiarise themselves with the conditions in Ecuador. We therefore offer students from tourism schools or other interested parties the opportunity to gain practical experience with us. You will receive further information after contacting the lodge:

School In The Rainforest

As a teacher at the ‘Sacha Yachana Wasi Christina’ jungle school, you can actively teach the children something. As lessons are held in Kichwa, Spanish and German, volunteers can give language lessons here and actively help to organise everyday teaching.

AmaZOOnico Learning Center

Volunteering at the AmaZOOnico Learning Center involves teaching the children of the employees as well as teaching English to the employees. The skills they learn in class open up many opportunities for the future.

Sacha Hambi

As a volunteer in the Sacha Hambi project, you will work with the plants in the ethnobotanical garden. For example, you will help with gardening and planting new medicinal plants. You will also help to explain everything about the garden and its medicinal benefits to tourists.

During your time, you will live with the Canelos family in their house.
